This textbook is designed for the students of junior high schools as the main reference on learning the English subject, in accordance with the Kurikulum Merdeka.

Learning materials and assignments are developed in text-based approach (genre-based approach) and delivered in various oral and written forms; visual, audio, and multimodal modes (i.e. the text containing verbal, visual and audio aspects). The texts used in this book are also both authentic and created ones for teaching purposes. The learning materials and activities in this book were developed to prepare students to become active learners individually, in pairs, or in groups.

The learning process focuses on learners (learner-centred) in strengthening the ability to use six English language skills (listening, speaking, reading, viewing, writing, and presenting) using various types of texts and contexts.
