English for Productive Learners is designed for the purpose to improve the students’ skill both in oral cycle (listening and speaking skill) and written cycle (reading and writing skill) by applying the genre-based method in every chapter. Activities in this book are designed to improve the students’ skill in English independently. By using this genre-based method (BKof, MoT, JCoT and ICoT) hopefully it can encourage the students to develop their competence in using English as well as their discourse and cultural levels. In each activity, there are Activities to give the students standard exercises, Group Project to familiarize the students in social interaction and Individual Project to improve individual skill and creativity of every student in a certain subject. Th is book is also completed with grammar materials in Grammar Focus and Vocabulary List at the end of the text in order to improve the students’ vocabulary.

At the end of each unit there is Further Test for the students to apply their knowledge they got before. Each semester is provided with Semester Evaluation as the tool to measure the students’ comprehension of the materials. Assessment for Minimum Competence is given to familiarize the students with the standard test used nowadays. After learning this book, they are expected to be able to create various English text types by genre-based approach and apply them in daily life.
